The pieces are made using
Earth-stone Crank Clay, glazed and fired in an electric kiln up to four
times
First Stage:
Bisque Firing (900°C)
Second Stage:
The Bisque-fired pieces are then
washed with Iron Oxide; which highlights the texture
Third Stage:
Glazed pieces are returned for a
further firing (1250°C)
Fourth Stage:
The next firing (1254°C) is with
Copper and Manganese Oxides; this creates the metallic effects
in voids and on some surfaces
